Every weekend since 1979, the Buey y Vaca family has been serving authentic Mexican food to the Houston community in the Northside.

Jaime Garcia, the oldest of 6, led his family to a ‘hard-work pays off’ lifestyle with his multiple businesses throughout his years. The business that has been active and has continuously grown as his other business ventures have come and gone, are the Taquerias de Buey y Vaca and Flea Market de Buey y Vaca. His presence is always felt as he greets every customer that walks into his restaurant “Hola Jefazo buenos días. ¿Todo bien? Me da gusto saludarlos.”
Growing up in Milpa Alta, Mexico City, Jaime and his siblings were taught to be merchants. All 6 of them from a young age were shown how to sell and make a living. That trait followed them to Houston when Jaime and his 5 siblings opened their first restaurant in 1979.
Now in 2023, the businesses continue to cater to people looking for a ‘Mini Mexico in Houston’ in ambiance, food, and music. You will find 3 brothers in their businesses with the support of their children and their families.
